These are the stunning images of what looks like a picturesque winter wonderland – but actually shot in the middle of summer. Amateur photographer Catherine Perkinton, 45, has spent the summer travelling around the country to create the fabulous images by utilising infra-red. She uses up her Canon 350D as its simpler nature allows it to capture colours in a more unique way than more advanced SLRs. Having worked with optics for the last 20 years, she sets up the camera with a 720 infra-red focus, allowing the camera to capture the thermal radiation that emits from objects along a different wavelength.
